The top-of-the-line 2013 Sentra SL CVT starts at $20,540, including shipping. Nissan has eliminated the high-performance Sentra SE-R and SE-R Spec V for the 2013 model year. The 2012 Sentra SE-R Spec V starts at $21,770, including shipping.
A leather package adds $1,030 to the 2013 Sentra's sticker price. A navigation package adds $650, while 16-inch alloy wheels add $975.
The base 2013 Sentra is $225 cheaper than its chief domestic rival, the 2013 Ford Focus. The 2013 Focus S sedan starts at $16,995, including a $795 destination charge. The Sentra is also cheaper than the 2013 Hyundai Elantra sedan. The Elantra starts at $17,470, including a $775 destination charge.
The 2013 Sentra received a major makeover that focused on a cut in horsepower, engine size and weight in the interests of better fuel economy.
The 2013 Sentra gets a new 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 130 horsepower. The engine is linked to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It is the only engine in the lineup.
The base 2012 Nissan Sentra is equipped with a 140-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine linked to a six-speed manual or Xtronic CVT.
